Dr. C.C. King
Dr. C.C. King is a founder, Board Chair, and President of the Diabetes Research Connection (DRC), a local 501(c)3 that connects donors with early-career scientists enabling them to perform peer-reviewed, novel research designed to prevent and cure Type 1 diabetes. For the past 3 years, Dr. King has led the Molecular Assemblies Group at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR-San Diego). Prior to that, C.C. was a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at UCSD, where he studied stem cell replacement therapies for Type 1 diabetes.
Dr. King earned a BS in Chemistry from Millsaps College, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and did his postdoctoral training at The Scripps Research Institute and UCSD.
