The
work of the Foundation
is to provide enriching
programs for our community's
residents and to provide
grants to organizations
that provide programs
and services to our
community. Funding
for most of these
programs relies on
the generous support
of donors to the foundation.
Without this support
we could not provide
the scope of programming
or any of the grants
we make. Since we
are a qualified 501(c)(3)
corporation, these
donations are generally
tax-deductible.

We
welcome and greatly
appreciate your donations
for the Foundation's
operating budget.
These donations support
the annual programs
sponsored by the foundation
such as the Twilight
Concerts, the Children's
Programs, Arts programs,
etc.
These
funds also provide
money for the grants
that we make to other
organizations. Past
grants have provided
support for the Junior
Lifeguard program
and special needs
of the Del Mar Lifeguards;
educational programs
about the San Dieguito
Lagoon, including
elementary school
field trips focusing
on lagoon ecology,
bus tours to inform
the community about
the current restoration
of the lagoon, and
the publication of
a brochure, Birds
of the San Dieguito
Lagoon ;
and equipment requested
by the Del Mar Fire
Department for Del
Mar's Community Emergency
Response Team ( CERT
). The Foundation
has also provided
support to other organizations
that serve the community,
including the Del
Mar Library, the Powerhouse
Community Center ,
Keep Del Mar Clean,
and Del Mar TV.

In
2007, in celebration
of 25 years of service
to the Del Mar community,
the Foundation committed
to establish and build
an endowment program
to provide long term
funding stability
for community needs.
With 100% board participation
and key founding pledges
in hand, we invite
you to consider becoming
an Endowment Founder.
A
gift to the endowment
will provide benefits
to the community in
perpetuity, because
only a portion of
the earnings will
be used for annual
spending and grants,
and the principal
and a portion of the
earnings will be used
to grow endowment
to enable the foundation
to support future
projects. An endowment
is an essential part
of building a community
foundation that has
a stable source of
funding and can therefore
support long term
projects that will
benefit the community.
We
welcome appreciate
endowment gifts at
all levels. To make
an endowment donation
or pledge, or for
more information about
the endowment program
or how to become an
Endowment Founder,
please call 858-635-1366,
or send an email to: Contributions@DelMarFoundation.org.

If
you have an unneeded
car just gathering
dust, but don't want
the hassle of having
to sell it, consider
donating it to the
Del Mar Foundation.
It's as easy as one
stress-free phone
call to 877-537-5277.
Funds from donated
vehicles support Del
Mar Foundation programs
and grants.
How
it works: All you
need is a clear title,
and we'll take care
of the rest, including
pickup, at no cost
to you. Once your
vehicle has been sold,
you'll be sent a receipt
for your tax records,
and the sale proceeds
will be donated to
the Del Mar Foundation
in your name. You
may also receive a
tax deduction!
